LHH Atlanta: Marriage Ain’t Hot All the Time

Now I know what ya’ll are thinking…This show is scripted…Rasheeda stupid for taking him back in the first place…this show is drama-filled…etc.

But let’s be real for a moment! This moment Rasheeda had right here, was REAL! She dropped some knowledge for the married people. Had me like Amen girl, Amen!! She had me all in my feelings. I commend her for this though. The world need more people willing to share their stories, if it means it will help out the next person. Especially when it comes to marriage. I don’t agree with all the fighting, fussing, and cussing, but this is a message for somebody right here. Take a look:

When you look around, you’ll see more married people portray themselves as this fairy tale knowing good and well they go home to chaos or they feel empty inside. I feel like this is why divorce happens so much in our society. I mean my sis, Tamar, did tell us somebody had told her that everyday was gone be sunny skies…only Marvin Gaye and lingerie…SOMEBODY LIED!

Instead of people being real about what they go through, they lead people to believe it’s going to be sunshine and rainbows all the time. I ain’t go lie…I was one of those people. But the more I tried to put on a front, the more damage I was doing to myself.

Marriage is not always going to to be a walk in the park. I see more and more young couple becoming one, and that’s exciting! But at the same time, it’s heartbreaking to think there are other wives and husband out there that feel the way I did. Thinking they have to smile all the time to paint this pretty picture for the ‘gram or Fakebook…i mean Facebook.

Well you might be thinking…I don’t want people in my business. I am not saying shout from the roof top that you have been broken by the one that was suppose to love you most! I am saying be transparent with your friends looking to get married, or even the ones that have already united. If you haven’t been through it, don’t let your mouth touch it! If you don’t have anything to say that could possibly encourage or uplift, then don’t say anything at all. Share your journey! If you’ve been through some hard times and you’ve made it out, share it with people it could possibly help! We don’t go through stuff just to sit on it, but we go through it to learn, grow, and help others.

If you agree with this post, please share it! Let’s save some marriages ya’ll! They say it takes a village to raise a child, and that same hard work is need to have a long and happy marriage! We should build a community of healthy marriages for the next generations to come instead of all these broken homes.
